On Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, Boulder Beer Co. — Colorado’s oldest start-up craft brewery — closed its doors to the Pub on Wilderness.

The facility itself opened in 1983/4, the first in Boulder County, and its closing on Jan. 18 signals the end of an era. Not the end of craft beer in Boulder County (by a long shot), but the loss of living history.

In this week’s Boulder Weekly, a little bit on the atmosphere that final day, along with a quick recap of the series of events that led to the closure. If you want to read more about Boulder Beer, I’ve written about them extensively here, here, and here.
