I’ve always been excited about West Flanders. We go the extra mile to try to bring some authenticity. … Especially when you’re trying to do a style that’s been done a million times over.”

That’s Brian Lutz, brewmaster of West Flanders Brewing Co., Boulder County’s purveyors of Belgian-style ales. Lutz and Belgian brews go way back, and if you’re going to celebrate either St Arnoldus Day (July 18) or Belgian National Day (July 21) with a beautifully yeasty brew, then West Flanders is the place to start. I recommend Holy Wit! but Lutz might stump for his Trippel Lutz. Either way, you’re in good hands.
